Who we are...

Tracy M. Law, MPT

Tracy is co-owner of APT and a native of Americus. He has over 20 years experience in physical therapy and received his Associate Degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia in 1991. He later received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Georgia Southwestern State University in 1999. Tracy received his Master of Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia in 2001.

Tracy has attended several courses in Postural Restoration, McKenzie Method of Rehabilitation, Shoulder and Knee Rehabilitation, and Sport Specific Rehabilitation, which he incorporates in his daily treatments.

Tracy is very involved in his community serving as Chamber of Commerce Chairman for several years as well as serving on numerous boards and committees for organizations here in Americus and Sumter County. Tracy also gives back to the community by assisting Southland Academy with their athletics by providing care for their athletes on the field.

Tracy and his wife, Lisa, are the proud parents of twin boys, Luke and Landon. They attend First Baptist Church in Americus where Tracy enjoys singing in the choir.

Alex G. Saratsiotis, MPT

Alex is co-owner of APT and a native of Americus. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Georgia Southwestern State University in 1998 and a Master of Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia in 2000.

Alex has furthered his education and skills by attending several sports rehabilitation courses with emphasis on foot, knee, hip, and shoulder rehabilitation. He has attended courses on the McKenzie Method of Rehabilitation and Postural Mechanics that are incorporated in his daily treatments.

Alex is very involved in the community serving as chairmen of the One Sumter Foundation as well as serving for many years on the Sumter County Developmental Authority.

Alex and his wife, Mandi, are the proud parents of Mary Katherine, Isabelle and Caroline.

Megan Davis,
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

Megan Davis is one of our licensed Physical Therapist Assistants. She has worked as a PTA in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, pediatrics, school systems, hospitals, and nursing homes. She brings with her 14 years of experience overall with the majority of her career focusing on orthopedics. She enjoys being able to assist patients after surgery and/or injury in returning to their normal activities of daily living and helping them to be able to participate in the hobbies they once enjoyed.

Megan is a Dooly County native and has lived in Vienna, Ga. all of her life. She has a husband of 18 years, 2 kids ages 10 and 13, 2 dogs, a horse, a goat and a cat. When not working Megan enjoys spending time with family, spending time outdoors with her animals, running, and she also likes reading in her spare time. Megan and her family attend Central Baptist Church here in Americus, Ga.

Megan graduated from the Darton College PTA program in 2008 and began practicing in 2009. She has served as a clinical instructor as well as a compliance/continuing education supervisor. She is hoping to eventually transition to becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy where she can use her knowledge and skills gained while practicing to further enhance her education.

Ben Smerglia,
Office Manager

Though born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Ben has lived in the South for most of his life. He has been proud to call Americus, GA home for the past several years. Ben serves as our Front Desk Coordinator, working to help us manage the day-to-day business like greeting our patients with a friendly smile, making sure everything is running smoothly with patients’ insurance plans, scheduling patients for all of their appointments, and more! With a Bachelor of Science in Film & Television Broadcast, a Master of Science in Business, and a 20 year career spanning many areas like administration, marketing and advertising, public relations, and managing film and television crews, Ben brings a broad range of experience to our practice. Ben spends his free time making and listening to music, writing, and playing with his now 17-year-old cat named Drama. He occasionally makes the trip back to Beaufort, South Carolina, to visit his mom, brother, nephews and niece.

Jessica Byrd,
Front Desk Assistant

Jessica has called Americus home since she was born. After getting her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Shorter University in 2017, her passion for horses led to her taking the reins of South Winds Farm, where she continues to ride, teach, and compete in Three Phase Eventing, alongside her mom Colette. She serves as our Front Desk Assistant, where she helps to keep operations organized and efficient, and pitches in wherever needed so that our staff and facility are able to serve our patients with the utmost care and attention. When she's not horsing around, she enjoys a handful of various fiber arts, as well as roller skating, hiking, and travelling with her husband, Jay. They take care of Monty and Whiskers, their 2 cats, and attend Plains Baptist Church.
